3306 Grant Valley Road NW - Designation of Champion Tree
Sycamore (acer pseudoplatanus) was awarded Silver Medal Champion Tree status in 2025. The tree is the largest sycamore specimen in Buckhead, second largest for the City of Altanta and is the 6th largest tree in Buckhead. The tree is approximately 240 years old, meaning this tree is roughly as old as the United States. Imagine that this tree began life when the Declaration of Independence was signed. It is incredible. American Sycamores have a life span of 300 years, with exceptional specimens reaching up to 600 years.
